It is otherwise unrelated to space jam, but there is a space jam Easter egg part way through. The plot is a bit looney, which would be needed to support the cartoon characters. The Three Caballeros, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Looney Tunes: Back In Action and Space Jam are really, really good. I wouldn't say that movies are dead. As someone pointed out WB is working on another Looney Tunes-live action hybrid right now. Last year alone we got two of them - Space Jam 2 and Tom & Jerry (haven't seen it yet)..
